The functional speciality of History tells stories of what took place, pulling out the significant historical facts from the insignificant. There is another distinct form of history that is embedded in the speciality of Dialectic: an evaluative history constructed around the presents or absence of intellectual, moral, and/or religious conversion. Such a general evaluative history would be essential for any comparison between Gramscian and "Benedictine" memes.
Once again, as "designers" in search of a possible solution we start from the basics: What are the markers signifying progress or decline?
Our strategy is first to brainstorm a set of possible markers before assessing each according to its relevance to the various forms of conversion in both the individual's transcendental method (precepts) and society's collective endeavors (functional specialities). Selected videos provide the initial starting point for each brainstorming session.
